The Skellig Islands were featured in Star Wars film Episode VII “The Force Awakens” filmed in 2014. The Skelligs features prominently at the end of the movie where the audience is reintroduced to Star Wars’ original hero Luke Skywalker . Filming took place in 2015 Episode VIII “The Last Jedi” which was released in 2017. Fans have been flocking to the Islands since to get a chance to perform the breathtaking climb and experience the magic of Skelligs.
