At the South West tip of Valentia Harbour lies this picturesque fishing village, with a fine natural harbour and modem pier. A modern bridge now crosses the channel to connect Valentia Island to the mainland. Approximately 3 miles south of the village is Coomanaspig Pass 1000 feet high one of the highest places in Ireland accessible by car. At the top there is a spectacular view of the harbour, mountains, the peninsula ranging from the Beara Peninsula to the Dingle Peninsula.
