Grave of Fas

This is the grave of Fas, wife of the Milesian Chieftain Un Mac Uige, who was killed in battle. This battle according to tradition was fought between the Milesians and the original settlers the Tuatha de Danaan in the East of Corca Dhuibhne in the neighbourhood of Slieve Mish. This grave lies a short distance from Camp village in the parish of Kilgobban. The mark on the grave is a great shaft of stone with neat inscription in Ogham[ Ogham - an ancient Irish Alphabet of twenty characters formed by parallel strokes on either side of or across a continuous line.]
