This is situated at the South - Western extremity of Brandon Bay, underneath the Eastern slopes of the Brandon Mountain. An excellent base for climbing Mount Brandon. A fine beach nearby is a quarter of a mile long. A small costal village called Brandon is 3 miles north of Cloghane. The "Beatha" Enviromental Quality Mark was won by the area. This mark is a European award for areas managed in a sustainable way.
