Dingle Peninsula

Conor Pass

The Connor Pass is a drive over the mountains from Castlegregory to Dingle. It is the highest mountain pass in Ireland; the road climbs 7 miles along the Brandon Range to a height of 1,500 feet. At the top one can see Brandon and Tralee Bays and the sandy Castlegregory Peninsula separating them. Below are a number of lakes in the valley, which is a boulder-strewn wilderness. Approximately a mile down is a deep gorge and one hundred feet above is Pedlars Lake [Lough Doon]. Southwards is an excellent view of Dingle Bay.
